American Baptist Women
of Wisconsin
Mission & Service
Greetings in Christs name,
As your mission and service coordinator I have
some SPECIAL things I would like to remind all of you SPECIAL women
about.
First I want to remind you about our SPECIAL Mission
project, Milwaukee
Christian Center. I am sure all of you did a fine job with your
White Cross this fall, but now is the time to be thinking about the
wonderful opportunity you have to help above and beyond through your
SPECIAL giving.
This is the time of year many of your groups will
be sending in your dues, so it is a good time to send along a SPECIAL
gift for the SPECIAL mission project at the same time. Just mark your
paperwork with the amount you wish to go to this project and our state
treasurer will take it from there.
Second I want to remind you to be praying for,
writing to, and supporting our SPECIAL INTEREST MISSIONARIES. Below
you will find some BRIEF updates on our IM SPECIAL INTEREST people.
You can go to the American Baptist International
Ministries website to access their journals and learn of their prayer
requests. www.internationalministries.org.
Recently I heard from Judy Sutterlin who has been
extremely busy with her work in China. She requests prayer for a conference
of Amity teachers and for teachers who need to travel home during
the semester break there. Pray she will have strength as she ministers
in many ways, as well as teaching English.
I also heard from Marie Ketly and Vital Pierre
in Nicaragua, asking for prayers for a new church plant in a nearby
community. You can learn more on their website at: www.missionbluefields.com.
Please continue to remember the Perkins family.
Betsy has had some illness. Anna, who is at Taylor University here
in the states, is involved in a mission trip. I know that she appreciates
cards and letters while being away from her family. Why not Consider
ordering Gods Kids newsletter for your Sunday School, or having
your teens write to Anna or other missionary kids?
Catherine Holmes informed me that a new semester
is starting and they have had a change in leadership at their school.
They are praying God will send the right person to lead that school
as it ministers to children from many nations. Lets join her
in that prayer!
John and Debra Coats in Cambodia have informed
us that they have received approval for their continued work with
tuberculosis. They ask that we pray for them as they minister in Christs
name to the suffering of that area.
Please remember our missionaries with cards on
their birthdays and notes of encouragement either through email or
snail mail.
Remember our home missions with the America For
Christ Offering, and saving of Campbell Product labels and lids and
other types of support that you can find in the White Cross information
booklet.
Dont forget there are some mission trips
coming up, including one to Mississippi lead by Rev. Jane Mathison.
Whether it is in your community, the USA, or overseas, opportunities
await!
Remember that we are not all called to leave home
to do mission, but we are each given the opportunity to minister in
Christs name each day, at home, at school, at work, wherever
God sends us. Let our response always be, Here I am Lord, use me.
