A Shower
of Blessings
In as much as ye have done it unto the least of these, ye have done
it unto me. Matthew 25:40b, KJV

Since 1919, when two women from Cleveland,
OH formed the White Cross Service League, American Baptists have been
providing a shower of blessings to people in need. Baby layettes,
school supplies, medicines, roller bandages, hospital gowns and craft
items are just a few of the things that local congregations have been
providing for mission workers on limited budgets. Today, this ministry
now provides some $750,000 annually in mission support.
White Cross: A Shower of Blessings
is the theme of the new White Cross Magazine for 2007-2010. It is
a good source of information to promote White Cross in your church.
It will give you new ideas for meeting the requests sent to your church
and ways to involve the whole congregation. Each White Cross Coordinator
should have received one. If you didn't, I would be happy to get a
copy to you. Additional inserts for your bulletin can also be found
there.
