Mission
Statement: "To enhance and deepen the spiritual growth and life at FBC of
Hudson so we can better serve the Lord and God's people."
There's been a "Light" at the corner of Third and Vine since 1852. Hudson was in
its infancy when American Baptist missionaries came and gathered our church out
of the wilderness, with just 11 members and a lot of prayer.
Our sanctuary was built in 1866, the parsonage in 1884, the annex in 1890 with
new addition in 1982 and our youth building "The Crossing Point" was acquired in
1987. Our oldest treasure is the historic Jardine pipe organ, one of the rarest
in the nation, installed in 1872.
In cooperation with Christian churches in the area, we share in Vacation Bible
School, the Hudson Area Ministerial Association, and the Spirit in the Park
music festival held each August.
We care about our history, but the future excites us even more: the new people
God is sending; the fresh vision He is giving; the deepening spiritual life and
purpose. We are expecting great things from God, and God is answering!
While not highly structured, we are guided by our Cabinet, Diaconate, Trustees
and Christian Education Boards and Mission Committee. People may join by
transfer of letter from another congregation, by statement of Christian faith
experience or by baptism.
