Meditation
To be in a choir is to be part of a family:
A singing and ringing family
A committed Christian family
A caring, praying family
A joyful, fun-loving family
To be in a choir is to minister to other through song
To be in a choir is to be blessed and to be a blessing.
Responsive reading:
Leader: We are called to something fresh and new
People: But we are also called to remember our tradition
Leader: To remember our roots
Men: To hold on to the foundations of our faith
Leader: Our foundations in liturgy, worship and in song
Women: We are called to a lively and fresh perspective
Men: We are called to new songs and new words and new
ways
Leader: But we are also called to cherish the roots of our
tradition
All: To cherish the hymns, the prayers and the groundwork that
gave us our beginning. As we make our way into the wilderness of the
future, let us rely on the manna of the past to feed us along the
journey.
