Oconomowoc-First Baptist Destroyed In Explosion

First Baptist Church - OconomowocA gas line severed during excavation related to the upgrade of Wisconsin Avenue (State Highway 16) in Oconomowoc caused a massive explosion that destroyed the church building of Oconomowoc-First Baptist and two homes owned by the congregation. Fortunately, there was no loss of life or serious injuries.

Since January 1, Sam Brink of the region staff has been serving as the transitional pastor. The congregation is now worshipping at the Olympia Resort. Worship is at 10am and sister congregations are invited to send persons to show their support. The congregation has been deeply moved by the support of the wider ABC family. An immediate gift of $5,000 was received from One Great Hour of Sharing.
