Hurricane
Response Continues
Numerous congregations have responded by sending
financial support and work groups to the Gulf region to help
in the restoration following the 2005 hurricanes. Max Ramsey,
Immanuel-Brookfield, was among the first to respond as he
had immediate and direct contact with a seminary classmate serving
a Presbyterian congregation in Gautier, MS. Various groups from
several regions and congregations have gone and worked. Recently
ABC World Relief Office through One Great Hour of Sharing Funds
granted $45,000 for Project Gautier. This will facilitate work
with the local American Baptist relief coordinator to adopt
families who have "fallen through the cracks" with
other agencies.
