MICAH (Milwaukee Inner-city Congregations Allied for Hope) launched a campaign against Christian nationalism on Thursday, August 2rd, with a rally at the MLK Statue in Milwaukee and march to Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Regional staff present included Rev. Mindi Welton-Mitchell, Rev. Dr. John Jones, and Rev. Carolyn Dugan. Pastors present included Rev. Dr. Archie Ivy of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Dr. Jason Mack of Underwood Memorial Baptist Church, and Rev. Louis Sibley, pastor of Mt. Zion. About 100 faith leaders gathered for this event to bring awareness and resources for congregations on the dangers of Christian nationalism that incorporates white nationalism as a rule of law under the guise of Christian belief and erases the separation of church and state.
