Commission Projects
The Commission on Congregational Mission is an official commission of ABC Wisconsin as outlined in the Bylaws. The Commission promotes Christian education, campus ministry, evangelism, church growth, mission service in the state, nation and world, social justice and stewardship education. Every year, the Commission takes on a theme or topic to address. Previous years have included voter rights, anti-racism resources, digital equity and access, and stewardship.

Evangelism and Outreach 2025
In 2025, the Commission addressed Evangelism and Outreach. Our churches are very diverse culturally and theologically, so our understandings of evangelism and outreach can differ. However, we all are working to share the Gospel, the Good News of Jesus, in different ways. Our brochure highlights some questions for each church or evangelism/outreach teams to think about when considering their approach.

Resources mentioned in the brochure include the Discover Your Witness Style Quiz from InterVarsity (take the quiz first, it will download as an excel sheet). We also recommend Jeffrey Johnson's book Got Style? Personality-Based Evangelism (Revised Edition) from Judson Press. Another recommendation for a practical approach is Share Jesus Without Fear.
The Evergreen Association of American Baptist Churches shared an article from Rev. Sam Kim on Rethinking Evangelism (second page) that may also be helpful for congregations for whom the word evangelism may be tied to more negative connotations.
Hospitality Project 2024
In 2024, the Commission addressed the theme of hospitality with the "Hospitality Project," creating resources to help congregations be more welcoming and accessible both online and in-person. https://www.abcofwi.org/2024/09/10/is-your-front-door-inviting-and-hospitable/
Digital Access and Hybrid Worship
In 2023, the Commission worked on digital accessibility in both rural and urban settings and the challenges of accessing internet. They also shared some resources for hybrid ministry and how to include the online congregation.
Anti-Racism Resources
In 2022, the Commission shared resources on confronting racism and challenged our congregations in becoming anti-racist.
Social Justice and Voting Rights
In 2021, the Commission shared information at the ABCWI Annual Gathering on voting rights and bills before the Wisconsin Assembly that were of concern. Please note that these links and resources may now be outdated.
